Description

EDIT: i've named them larkhai!

im running on like two hours of sleep HAHA

aaa ok so! i was really struggling with my species idea from before. then, earlier, while i was trying to sleep, i got a sudden epiphany that i can just use stuff
from my old sketch and mix it with a whole bunch of other things i love drawing; just to make it actually fun for me to work with instead of a chore done
for the sake of having a species of my own.

these guys are such a heavy wip still but i'm getting somewhere! i might make a few prototypes and have a DTA/OTA or raffle just for fun though, if anyone
would be interested...?

anyway, i don't have a name for the species yet, but here are some facts!! excuse wonky english:

- they rub noses together briefly as a way to greet friends and family! though they're born with their noses peachy soft, the more sociable or
extroverted they are, the more likely their nose is to harden from how often they interact. in some cases they can become hard like shells and adopt a lustrous sheen.
this sheen is envied by some and is sometimes seen as a sign of popularity, status or health.

- on the flip side shoving someone else by the nose is seen as an attack and highly offensive. the sheen mentioned above can surface this way, too, but then the individual
is almost guaranteed to be of a fighter type
(the bottom middle sketch, they'd be impossible to mistake) and highly aggressive. these are sometimes known to form horns
over time

- the aggressive variants can't use their fingers as stilts and so walk on their knuckles like a gorilla would

- their mouths, though they look jagged and chompy, are actually very soft! think of a dogs muzzle, it's something like that.

- their fingers push together with such force they become impossibly hard, stilt-like to match their legs, and easier to run on. normally individuals of this species don't really mind dirt, so having to use their hands right after a good run isn't such a terrible thought. however, if they're a bit "fancier," or of status, it isn't uncommon that they avoid running on all fours completely.

- their laughs sound like happy chirping

i hope you like what i have so far. i'm going to crash in bed now LOL
